Design Assessment
Want to assess your design skills OR someone else's?
One of the most prevalent misconceptions about developing effective
training is that you just need some really good content (or a great
subject-matter expert) and the rest will fall into place. We agree that really good content is important, but for high-impact training to occur there's more to it than just content.
That's why we developed this Design Assessment. Based on our High-Octane Design model, the assessment focuses on many of the mission-critical skills that someone needs to have if they are going to be creating a truly effective and engaging training program - one that has high-impact and a great return on investment. To take the assessment, carefully follow the instructions below. You'll find a link to the assessment after the instructions. Assessment Instructions
How to approach the assessment: You can complete the assessment based on your design skills, the design skills of someone else, OR the skills of a team of designers. Just be consistent throughout. How to complete the assessment: There are two different types of questions: skill questions and short-answer questions. For EACH of the skill questions you will use a 0-to-12 scale to indicate how you perceive the following three elements:
Recommendation 1: Start with assessing ABILITY for all of the questions, then go back to the top and assess CHALLENGE for all of the questions, followed by IMPORTANCE. Recommendation 2: Hover your mouse over each activity to read a more in-depth description. Go to the Assessment Now...
